Indian Takeaway Melbourne: Top 5 Indian Dishes Worth Trying

Indian food is one of the most widely loved cuisines in the area due to the wide variety of dishes, rich and convoluted sauces, and flavours, and mild or fiery spices. Whether you head to your favourite best Indian restaurant, try your hand at whipping up a curry at home, or order takeaway to enjoy a delightful meal from the comfort, Indian food is an excellent pick for lunch, dinner and maybe even lunch the next day! So, what are some of the top dish’s worth striving?

Tandoori Chicken

This dish looks scary but really isn’t. Its bright reddish colors make the food look like it might burn a hole in your mouth, but it’s actually a fairly neutral flavored chicken. It’s roasted and flavored with turmeric, jalapeƱo, chilly.

You can get a full Tandoori chicken at our restaurant in Melbourne, and we see many happy Indian food newbies excited with their selection.

Butter Chicken

At Ghazal Indian Buffet & Bar, we can do this with chicken, fish, prawn, or lamb and even make this a vegetarian choice. As a chicken plate, this is a fantastic way to be introduced into Indian food. This dish begins with the tandoori chicken sliced and it’s placed in a creamy sauce that is delicious and flavorful and cooked.

Palak Paneer

Another vegetarian dish, Palak Paneer is a North Punjabi dish that is favorite by many who enjoy Indian cuisine. Palak means spinach, and paneer is similar to cottage cheese – so Palak Paneer is a dense spinach concentrated dish served with rice and butter naan. Just like Matar Paneer, it’s a great dish for vegetarians or as a side plate to your meat curry and is certainly one that will entice the taste buds – and have you going back for a next serving!

Rogan josh

Rogan josh is a lamb curry stuffed with the bright red and very slight chili powder of Kashmir where the dish begins. Yoghurt, garlic, ginger and spices like pieces, bay leaves, cardamom and cinnamon bark add more flavoring and texture.

Chicken Korma

This mildly spicy but rich north Indian curry contains meat or vegetables that have been cured in a mixture of yogurt or cream, and then fried in gravy with coconut milk. Often, it will be served sweet, with the add-on of jaggery. The dish also comes as a vegetarian Navaratnam Korma with various sorts of vegetables.
